Post-Lance Cycling on TV

Or, the lack thereof. Today is the first day of the Amgen Tour of EPO, oops, California and it looks like it could be an interesting race. Too bad most of us won't see this race on TV. Unless, of course, you set your DVD-R or VCR to record ESPN2 from 1:00-2:00 AM each night this week (except for Tuesday when it is on from 2:00-3:00 AM). I guess I'm happy that there is an hour of coverage each day, but that's a pretty low on the totem pole broadcast time. If Lance was racing, you can bet OLN would be giving it some prime coverage. They're not covering it at all. Ever. Not even on one of their Cyclism Sundays. Oh well, it's not like anyone other than Lance can race a bicycle and besides, cycling isn't a real sport anyway.

Gotta Love New England

OK, so I checked... it really is February 16th. You wouldn't know by the weather outside today. Sunny, 60+ degrees outside. Perfect riding weather. If only. I want to know why we keep getting these unseasonably warm days on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Why not Saturday and/or Sunday? For the first time in my professional teaching life, I actually have to work inside a building until 3:45 PM everyday. I know, to many people that's nothing, but I'm a teacher - I'm supposed to be done by 3:00 at the absolute latest. Until this year, the latest I had to go to was 1:25 PM. Alas, only 2 more weeks and then I will be done everyday by 12:30 or 1:00. Of course, that's when it will snow.
